Another great figure.
But I must say, many English soldiers of that period are offered by manufacturers.
And the British uniform is not really more varied!
I'd like to see other nations represented:
Italy, German allies, Austria, Denmark, Sweden ....
for that period, it is true that French and English are the most commercial issues.
But a little novelty in the choice, really would be good !!!

I love this figure by Ian and had the pleasure of applauding Rob dor bringing it out at Euromilitaire last month.
At first Zas your comment seemed spot on, there have been a lot of British figures released over the years, but not that many that can be posed together nowadays in this scale my friend.
I think he should be applauded for adding to a select range in this scale and look forward to more to stand alongside this one.
I do agree that we are long overdue a whole range of Scandic Napoleonics, but should you not say that in figure news my friend?
Is it Elan 13's fault that no-one has produced these.
I think you are being unfair.
If I make Jaguar cars it's not my fault no-one produces swimming vehicles for the canals of Europe.

Happy modelling.

Paul

Actually, the figure is a jolly welcome addition to this neat range, and a corner of a square could be very good. Say like the Vereker Hamilton picture of "Quatre Bras" with the 44th foot. Always captured my imagination when I was a lad, and was largely responsible for my Napoleonic interests.

:D Bit decadent, Paul....swimming cars? Most folks make do with a garden pond or nice water feature. Oh, come on, my digressions lighten the tone:LOL:

Alan (in trepidation of witty rejoinders)
.

My witty rejoinder for today is giggle glue.
fixes any relationship fracture .
Love you all....I'm in my happy place but going home soon

Paul.

Elan 13 is a dynamic brand(y), better with each new figures  , my message is just to try to interest its manager to produce somes Napoleonic different figures.;)

Thank you all for the feedback.

This figure is part of an occasional series that Ian is sculpting for Elan13. It will eventually add up to a diorama of a British square at Waterloo by Ian that will include one off pieces too. Two new pieces are currently being worked on. Ian and I have a flexible working relationship, he sculpts something when it suits him and I say thank you and have it cast. He then paints the box art.

I do think Elan13 has an eclectic back catalogue with a medieval merchant, punk, TV characters and a Russian Prince in there. I tend to sculpt what interests me but even though I fit this in with a full-time other job, it does need it break even if possible so the odd 'commercial' release is needed.

I'm glad we are producing some Napoleonic figures as they were my first love when I got into figure sculpting back in the Victorian days. It's even given me a nudge to supplement Ian's range with a couple of Napoleonic figures of my own, that will come out next year. There are some excellent suggestions amongst the ideas posted above. I'm a big fan of Murat's troops, but these have been covered often, I did sculpt a Swedish figure many years ago, so who knows what the future will hold, but I'm afraid the two I'm working on at the moment are both British!

Its a very good figure!

Is he meant to be the front rank of the square? If he was, the pose is a bit 'off'. He should have the musket, lock up, braced against his knee where it touches the ground. More chance of stopping a horse that way! Many a long hour spent practising this position!

Just my opinion by the way!

Best regards
Ian
