Nicely done, Roger! The uniform colors look great and the bamboo lance and field equipment look authentic. Steve certainly has a way of sculpting very British looking faces, doesn't he? Do you think a number of his figures look like they have pot bellies?
Nice one Roger!
As Daniel quite rightly points out, Steve Warrilow's has a real affinity with the serviceman of the period. I really lke his figures as well.
Thanks fella's, yes Steve Warrilow certainly knows how to sculpt WW1 figures.
Obviously a lot of research goes into his work. They do look like the men you see in period photographs.
Dan, I wonder if the pot bellies come from Bully beef and Maconochie or good English bitter
Roger - According to all the accounts I've read, sadly, they didn't get much bitter in the trenches. Rum ration every day, 'confiscated' wine once in a while, maybe. I'm thinking it must have been the bully....or maybe just gas from the bully.... ?
Thank you Maurizio.
Dan, from the accounts I've read the British soldiers didn't think much of the French beer in the estaminets. the pot bellied ones must've been in Flanders
My own grandfather said the best bit of the war was the estaminet, and believe me he'd know!
Good job Roger.
I like the leather of the cartridge pouches and the hint of rosie cheeks on this chap.
I agree with the comments about The Fusilier kits and of Steve's style. I am very pleased with the kits I have so far from them. I like the little extras or options that come with most of the kits.
Keep up the good work.

Glad you like it G9.
Do you have this kit? If you like the extra's that come with Steve's kits this is the one for you. Off the top of my head I think this one can be assembled into least four different versions.
The ammunition bandolier was painted with leather brown and washed with Games Workshop brown wash and then highlighted with flesh. I think that gives a pretty accurate representation of worn leather.
Soldiers, sailors and farmers all have rosie cheeks
Roger.
Hello Roger,
I don't have this kit. I am considering the addition of some British kits from Fusilier.
I like the looks of this kit and now that you've told me it has several options, I like it even more. Is this kit GWB/27?
Thanks for the color reference tips on the leather ammo. bandolier. It does look good.
