I had a little free time on the weekend (once more ;)) and used it to finish this little man in black.
It's the Pegaso 54mm Death Hussar Officer, Duke of Brunswick, 1815.
Easy to built, not so easy to paint with his single black color.
Let me know what you think about.

PS: Should i have a break from paining tiny little figures? ähm.....NO.. Better to miss some sleep.

Hi Nap, thanks for your comment!
for the black i used the method Daniel Cartacci shows in his famous book. I mixed some brown to the black color (I had it do mix it twice because the first mix was like 80%cacao chocolate:(, too brownish). The lights are done with Vallejo "German Tank Crew II". Shadows with black.

Well done. Black is a difficult task indeed. By the way, given your title, do you know the historical reason for the use of the oak leaves in the Austrian troops headgear? Thanks KuK Grenadier.

Hi Jaybo,
the oak leaves were only worn by regiments on campaign - or as we say here in Austria "im Feld" (direct translation "in the field") as a symbol of active duty.

All black figures are indeed very difficult but you seem to have overcome all difficulties in creating this one.Very good indeed.

PS: I agree with you on the sleep part!

Oda.

Christian,
I have painted this one in the past, its a super little figure. You have done a lovely job on painting the black, not the easiest to get right. Well done.
