I'm in the research phase for a new project. It'll be a Brunswick infantryman during the Franco-Prussian War 1870-71. Thanks to Osprey's MAA FPW books, i think i have most of the info i need, but i have not found any details at all about greatcoat shoulder straps as worn by Brunswickers. Did it follow standard Prussian procedure (i.e. dark blue with distinctive color -cornflower blue?- piping)?. Do you guys know any links or books where i can find further info?

The subject sounds awesome, Luis!

According to "Outpost Wargame Services Uniform painting guide Franco-Prussian War Volume II Northern German Confederation Army".....O.k. let me catch my breath! It says the Brunswickers tunic shoulder straps were of cornflower blue with a black crowned "W". I'm sure it would be the same for the great-coat.

Please keep us informed on this project.

Jason
