I used the da vinci brushes and they're very good.
The windsor and newton series 7 are excellent.
Great art have them for 37 percent off atm

I use Windsor & Newton Series 7 long (size 1 & 2 mainly) for most clean work. A size 4 from their artist range for quick blocking in. BrokenToad size 2 as a work horse. And various old sable and GW ones for messy stuff and texturing.

Hi Hughesy, Try the Broken Toad Mk2's. I've used W&N Series7 only. But the Broken Toad Mk2, you get 4 Kolinsky Sable brushes for the price of 2 W&N brushes. I'm very happy with mine. Just my thoughts.

Whats wrong with the Rosemary and Co brushes?....I picked up quite a few last year, when my stock of series 7's(bought 10 yrs ago, I bought loads of em cheap)was depleting, the newer series 7s I have, are not as they used to be to put it mildly....

My experience with Rosemary & Co is that the tips curl fairly quickly so I use series 7's. I tried Broken Toad Mk1 but they had the same problem.

Bare in mind that brush choice is a personal thing so try things out.

Most importantly, look after your quality brushes using a brush soap (Masters, BrokenToad, and others). Unless you want some knackered ones for texturing and basing.

I'm using the best brush I've ever had at the moment for just about everything, Acrylics, Metallics, Enamels, Inks and Oils.
Cleans without any problem and springs back to shape with a perfect point ...... CassArt No.1 Sable. Cost under £5.
Been using it for about 6 months and it's still as good as new.
