A bit late as this was released for remembrance 2013. Canadian rocker Bryan Adams was asked by PPCLI Hon. Col. and former Governor General Adrien Clarkson to pen a salute to mark the 100th anniversary of one of Canada's most iconic regiments, Princess Patricia's Canadian Light Infantry, raised on the outbreak of the Great War. Instead of singing it himself, Adams decided it would be more appropriately rendered by a group of army wives. The casting call was put out and these ladies responded, thinking that the would be background singers. Instead they starred.
The song is called "ric-a-dam-doo" after the regimental colour personally embroidered and presented by PP herself. It was the only regimental colour carried into the trenches by Canadians.
