Dear fellow painters,
the last will be the first.
The last bust I would like to present you for now is the first I ever made.
It shows the character "Johann, das Gespenst/the ghost" from the movie "Das Boot", which IMHO is one of the best German movies ever and one of my all time favourites.
This movie snapshot was the inspiration for the bust:

Diotech made an almost perfect reproduction.
The company "Diotech" does not exist any more and for several years I searched for a second one of these busts to paint it for a friend of mine.
In opposition to the other 3 I painted this one with Humbrol Enamels.
The glossy appearance of the bust was intended as the character who works in the Diesel-compartment of a submarine with a temperature between 40 and 50°C is permanently covered with a mixture of sweat and condensed water.
I am quite proud of this one.
Although it was my first bust paintjob at all it has been awarded at the Cheb Model Show (Czech Republic) 2014.
Cheers, Ulf
