Ciau Olga,

Great face...(y)
But I think the black and white need more highlights and shadows....

Hi Olga ,

Great face and especially the hair ..really nice ...love the monocle

I agree with Debrito about the B & W needing more highs and shadows

It might be the pictures but the base could perhaps be a bit better quality , the pics are picking up the imperfections ..but it might not show in the scale size so to speak .

Tempted by this one

Lovely work Olga, so nice to see a face with really natural colours rather than the forced highlights and shadows, so common today, which are only there to mitigate the transitions which are so apparent when painting with Acrylics.
Unfortunately the judging world has been conned into believing this is what faces really look like.

Beautiful piece, Olga. As Keith said you've achieved a very realistic face.
I viewed the pics as reduced to original size and the difference is stunning. I'd post reduced size pics.
Well done, it's a very nice piece.

Olga - beautiful rich face. Can you provide a little bit more info on where you used acrylic and where tempera? Did you mix them at all? Thanks

Hi Colin ! I use acrylic and tempera equally . Just when I need to draw something brighter I use acrylic, tempera has more natural color tones that well in other situations. And some acrylics give glitter, it is not always acceptable , although acrylic Polykolor ( Italian firm Maimeri ) give a matte surface . By the way I mix tempera with Polykolor , although I did not get mix other acrylics with tempera ( arose pellets ) . I also use acrylic when I need to have a very thin line ( in acrylic pigment finely ground ) . Best regards, Olga. :)
