Its not much but here is what I can tell you.
George Birkett, married to Laura Birkett and living at 460a Verdun Ave, Verdun, Quebec. Born Yorkshire, England, lists mechanic as his trade.
Enlists January 19, 1915 at Military District No.4, Joins the 24th Battalion ( Victoria Rifles of Canada) and issued regimental number 65083. The 24th was mobilized at Montreal and started recruiting October 22, 1914. The battalion trained until April 11, 1915 when they boarded the S.S. Cameronia at Montreal and sailed for England. Arrived Devonport April 20.
Sailed from England to France September 15, 1915 departing from Folkstone aboard the S.S. Queen and arrived at Boulogne. Attached to the 5th Brigade, 2nd Canadian Division. Fought in France and Flanders (battle honors for Somme, Arras, Ypres, Passchendale, Amiens, Cambrai)
His name appears on the dispersal draft, arriving at St. John N.B. from Liverpool on 7 March 1919 aboard the S.S. Minnedosa. Destination in Canada, Montreal.
His wife Laura dies in 1920 and he re marries in 1922.
That's all I can find without ordering his military records from the National Archives, hope it helps!
