This one has been at the bottom of my GA for a very long time.
I had dragged him out to place with my Phoenix Models’ ‘Napoleon Advancing’, but available base sizes relegated him to a solitary role.
These old Phoenix Models are definitely of their age, but often stand up very well against modern sculpts. This one, in particular, was very detailed, and fun to paint.
As usual, he’s painted in oils over enamels and printers’ inks for metals and braid.
The gold braiding was painted with a mix of printers' ink and Humbrol matt varnish, shaded with a wash of Van Dyke brown and highlighted with dry-brush touches of pure printers' ink.
Cheers,
Andrew
