One of my favourite World War Two characters is the Marshall of Finland (Sotamarsalkka), former regent and future President of Finland, Carl Gustaf Mannerheim

I am planning two more figures of him; one as a young liutenant at the Czar´s guard (when Finland was part of Imperial Russia), and another in the uniform of the photo above, at 1/16.

But, here ir the first, and little, one. 1/35 scale, from Historic Graphix, depicting him at the Winter War against the Soviet Union, in 1939.

The wood log at the base was sculpted with Milliput.

Any comments and critics are most welcome. :)

A closer look at the face. The sculpt of the eyes was not so good. I added the Winter Guard patch on the left arm.

A photo to give size notion.

You have done a nice job presenting him. The sculpt isn't world class but you have done a good job on him. I would suggest you try blending the flesh tones a little more, either by blending if oils or by laying in acrylic shades. But the model looks very nice.

Lets never mention Carl Gustav again,I had enough grief lugging his name sake around! Nice job on as Colin said a rather indifferent sculpt.

Colin, thank you for your comment. I will try to do a little bit on the face tomorrow (sunday). My problem with this face is the balance between a white skin and a reddish/purple winter effect.

Steve, thank you for the praise.

Regards to all
