Nick, from Regimental S4 Miniatures asked me to post this if I thought it would be of interest to our members.

Hi Guy,

I had a Carpenter construct a box to transfer figures to a show and wherever. It really came out well, and thought others may be interested in it.

The box may be constructed to any size to accommodate the size figures you paint. Decide how many figures you normally take to a show or want to carry in the box. Layout a square or rectangle on paper and place figures on it. This will help you determine the size for the box. Next determine the tallest figure (54mm mounted, 120mm, etc.) with the base. This will determine the height of the opening.

The box shown is 12" wide X 14" tall X 101/2 "

Figure opening is 10" wide X 9" tall X 91/2" deep.

Box is shown with two 120mm figures and two 200mm busts.

Box is constructed from Birch Wood.

If you think there would be some interest in this, please post to your website.

Have a good one!

Nick

My husband has been wanting to make me something to carry
the figures in.. I just had no idea... this is great... have to
get him on it right away....

I have been also looking for a large enough fishing tackle box
that I have seen where you cut the inside out.. but no luck there.. so
this is great..

Thanks for posting....

I really like that. It's really nice and I like the method used to keep the figures secure in the box.~Gary

That is a great idea. In fact, I made one very much like it for myself. The dimensions of my box were almost identicle, and that is where I experienced my problems. The box wouldn't fit in the over head compartment or under my seat on the air liner. If it weren't for a sympathetic stewardess on the local flight, and some co-conspirational passengers on the Seattle-L.A. leg of my journey, I would have been in some real trouble. So I would strongly encourage you to check the carry-on baggage limits before you pack up for any shows requiring you to fly.
