No worries mate. Ask said bloke to provide a source that states there's a "proper" way to carry it. There isn't even a standard kite shield size or shape. I, and I suspect a lot of other far more qualified historians would be most interested to see it. Aside from the Romans and one or two others there was no real standard of kit up untill the musket era really. Give 5 blokes kite shields and you'll find 5 ways of carrying it.Many thanks for your input Steve, not knowing about these things I thought I would ask the stupid question.
