Here is the completed version of the Celt , lovely sculpting and it really semed to flow when I was painting it , you will notice that the helmet piece is different as the ************** has the other plus I broke it ..so a plume went on (thanks Jimbo)

Just waiting for the nameplate to arrive through the post box ..once I get this I will post a full front view..now posted !!!!

Hi guys ,
Thanks for the comments and in answer to your comments :

The round plaques are quite simply downloaded from googling images of "Celtic" , printed off , cut out and stuck on with PVA and the satin varnish applied .

The base itself is a resin block from MDP (Martyn Dorey) washed based using GW Chaos Black the using GW TinBitz and W & N blending fluid which was appiled , once dry , satin varnish was again applied ...really pleased with the result

The round plaques
are celtic coins. They prefered motifs which are influenced by greek coin motifs, especially Alexander representations. But the usually alienate these motifs in their own style.

I like this one Kevin:) wich colors you used for the blod hair?
I cant reproduce such a realistic hair color.:(

Pedro ,
I also find blonde a challenge , but I started with a base of GW Graveyard earth( like kharki) , then did a wash of burnt umber, followed by GW Bubonic Brown , then Highlighting with reaper Blonde with high highlights of this plus white ..once I was happy with it I then put another very thin wash of burnt umber .

Hope this helps , but a lot of the time if it looks right I am happy (some use yellow in the range as well)

A good book is the Andrea publication called "Painting Girls" which has all hair colours , their version is :

Base : Earth(AC 40)

Shadows: English Kharki(AC 02)

Highlights: Golden Yellow(AC 08)
