I have finally completed this beauty from Laruccia and Alexandros Miniatures. This was a really great piece with a number of painting challenges. The cloak is based on an existing piece of cloth from the period that is woven wool. Despite the decorous appearance of the figure I wanted to incorporate a "utilitarian" item that would still be in keeping with the overall appearance. The architectural fixture is a watering/drinking trough typical of the time and suggested by Dr. Mike on the MedRom forum after much research on a mile marker had come up empty. I hope everyone likes the piece, now on to the next Roman.

Absolutely superb painting Jim. You've totally nailed this piece. The simple base and the plaid pattern on the cloak are spot on. I hope my version of this figure is half as good when I get to it.

Excellent job. All parts, metals, skin, fabric, and base are done very well. A beautiful piece you should be very proud of. Looking forward to seeing your next one!
