As you say, "it's a sculpting style' and some will like it for the exaggerated effects they can create. I prefer the more realistic look like you achieved with your 120mm Horse Guard Trumpeter piece (which I have) and that bearskin look perfect to me. MUCH more restrained and realistic.Bearskins may be different somewhat between Napoleonic times and now but one thing that hasn't changed is the biological structure of bear fur and you show me a photograph of a bear that's got fur that looks anything like this.As you say, ultimately it's a chosen sculpt or 3D style and people will either like it or they won't but one thing that is irrefutable is, it's not 'realistic' looking bear fur.Gary
