Best figure I have painted in 35 years of painting figures (And there have some brilliant ones). Might even get another. Thanks for serving it up again.

Me too this is a great figure. David loaned me his original photographs of Senior Drum Major Steven P Ward when I purchased my figure. Good guy David shame he is no longer sculpting.
As for Drum Major Steven Ward, was a member of the Royal Signals TA (Northern) Band, taking part in parades, fetes, tattoos and other events the length and breadth of the country.
He joined the TA after serving in the regular Army with the Coldstream Guards and Household Division from the age of 15, retiring as a senior drum major

He said he felt like continuing it, and found a local TA band in Middlesbrough, rang them up and asked if they needed a drum major. They said come along.
He took this opportunity to become a musician and to learn an instrument. He learned the cornet, the tenor sax and the baritone sax. He played in the band until 2008 and now he plays tenor horn in Northallerton silver band.
For his day job, Drum Major Ward, now works as an accommodation services accountant for the Army, sorting out furnishings for soldiers' homes.
Cheers,
Keith

That's twice Northallerton as cropped up on PF in a week!! I'll look out for the tenor horn next time I see them playing in the Hight Street.

Hi Roger,
Spooky. They will soon be charging a toll to go in due to increased popularity;)
He sometimes plays the bass drum as well........not always at the same time.
Cheers,
Keith

Hello Folks
I've just completed one of these figures and attached some pics. All the resin and white metal parts fit perfectly just as I remember the original ones from David Grieve.
Cheers
Gordon
