Challenge to the Olympo

Dear Sculptors,

I would like to make the following challenge.

Althought we have several high quality topics on sculpting figures, a SBS of shorts mpg files (or other movie format) would be a great enhancement to the Planet.

What are your views on this?

Seeing someone doing something can be hugely beneficial and beats the pants of still photos of steps as a rule, but there are lots of challenges to making these on the technical front. And speaking for myself you'd have to edit out a lot of "er, I didn't mean to do that" moments :lol:

I also think that to be of much use they're have to be quite long so that would make the files pretty large even by broadband standards.

I agre withEinion totally . I recently made a 3 hour demo on Star Club of Athgens for making miniatures bases. I taped it digitally , but the information size is so big that you cannot see it over the net

Completly agree with you, it would be a @$%# of a job but if anyone would be in the mood of doing this the benefits would be enormous (as stated by Einion).

The problem concerning the file sizes, probably the movie could be compacted in smaller chunks (with zip or WinRar) that would make it easier to download.

How large is the file of your demo? Could be sent thru e-mail or could it be downloaded from somewhere? Because such demo is a gem.
