I must confess I had to do a search to find out more on this chap.
He is a WW1 French fighter ace, ranked third evidently with 43 kills
Mysteriously disappeared on a flight over the Atlantic in 1927.
Had you done him as a bust against this photo I know of one member of this forum which would not have been able to resist it:) .
Nevertheless it is a lovely sculpt of him during some down time. Congrats
Melanie

Lindbergh visited Nungesser's mother in Paris after his (Lindbergh's) historic flight, if memory serves.

This is brilliant, despite the fame of the fella, yeah the only WW1 fighter ace I know is Biggles! But all that aside this is a figure begging to be painted. I'll have to chat my financial advisor up.

Cheers Simon

Thanks Nap.
A lovely rendition, I know you are partial to a medal or two :ROFLMAO:

Simon, you must of heard of von Richthofen and of course Snoopy....

Von Richthofen wasn't he the one with Muttly the dog chasing the pigeon and yes I forgot about Snoopy!

Cheers Simon

What a guy he was! An absolute hero and my favourite fighter ace of the war.
He used to drive into Paris to live it up in the evening, then drive back to his aerodrome, arrive in the morning, and fly again.
Quoted as saying something like, "When I attack, I close my eyes. When I open them, sometimes the German is going down, and sometimes I'm in hospital."
Fantastic fella.

Really neat, relaxed & masterfully sculpted miniature of this French legend.
And such a lovely rendition of his features.
Begging for a quick paintup I reckon Nap!
