Glad to inform you that our studio has a new release this week - the Saracen from Lucera

...In the thirteenth century Lucera was called Lucaera Saracenorum because it represented the last stronghold of Islamic presence in Italy. King Frederick II of Sicily had begun forced deportation of Muslim minorities around year 1220, but he left Lucera intact . Muslims had been living in Sicily since the ninth century in Lucera and the surrounding region.

Some of muslims, who lived in the South of Italy, were hired to serve in the army. In the XV-th century they represented a light infantry formation in italian town armies.

Our model shows a saracen in the moment of an attack.
