Decided on final pose for this one . again out of the spares and recycle box and a couple of Historex spares

I think I said this before, but I wish I had a parts box like yours. This looks like a wonderful project and I will be following its progress.

Moving on a bit ,got most of the reins done but not sure whether to just loop the control part over the shabraque or drop down to the standing figures hand .
The latter would be very difficult as I like to get as much built as possible before painting .
I have seen illustrations of both and I don't have a spare rein in the style supplied with MM kits

Still looking for the right hand side of the horse bit which pinged across the room when removing from the sprue , I have searched everywhere but it seems too have vaporised in mid flight

Hi Ron

The positioning looks good

Nice work on the reins as well ....and who hasn't had that "ping" happen .......it will be found .....just when this is finished !

Thanks for sharing

Looking the dogs......

I will be enjoying watching this, right up my street.

I always find mine have gone up the hover.... on account they never reappear...

Pushing on a bit basic ground work set , I have placed the figures insitu and formed round using mahogany wood filler which dries fast .
This approach was done so I did not have to paint the horse on the base which is always difficult to do . it will all slot in with minimum marking good .
Basic painting of undercoats with AB and will Finish with oils nearer the end . There is a lot more colour to the groundwork than shows ,all blasted out with the Digi SLR

Just a little progress . Couple of small additions to the horse furniture and ready for the undercoat.
Decided to attach the reins to the standing figure so just dropped them to the ground for ease of painting .
Really wish I could get some malleable copper strip for this sort of stuff .

I don't think there is a better sculptor of horses than Bruno , mind you they all look like thoroughbreds , no post horses or nags in this stable

Infinitesimal parts whizzing about like shrapnel only to completely disappear as
if they never existed......that takes me back....Ah, those old Historex days ......eh?
Have you ever thought that if someone could come up with a plan to 'modify' a
sniffer dog to find all those buckles, snaffles. and what have you, they'd probably
make a fortune.

Pushing on a bit further , Horse Primed and ready for base coat .

A couple of little things discovered in these days of shortages and improvisation

Industrial grade super glue from Everbuild , medium viscosity . a very reasonable amount for round about a fiver ; probably about a years amount . Bought from CEF electrical suppliers
In a search for standardising reins sword slings etc , I discovered that Veiniard Ltd lead wire flatness out to a nice uniform size by holding it on a small metal plate and pressing it down in a forward motion , I use the back of the tweezers in the picture .This wire comes in 0.60 and 0.40 mm obtained from my local angling centre .
Finally Ground scatter . Tomatoe compost  This stuff crushes down to a very nice scatter material , all you have to do is crush some in your hand and you have a very nice varied mix.
I have put some on the piece of card using Super glue , and also white wood adhesive , both work well and you can over dub more glue on top to build a bit of height

fullsizeoutput_8ba.jpeg fullsizeoutput_8b9.jpeg will use this scatter to marry in the metal base to the prepared ground work

Nice and detailed SBS Ronaldo, excellent work so far. Thanks for sharing and keep it up :)

Cheers Borek
