Chateau gates. Update.

I have started making some Chateau gates. The walls were made using Lego as a mould, then filled with plaster of Paris. then covered in PVA and sand. The coping "stones" are hardboard, with a ball made from two buttons glued together then filled. The hinges are from brass and wire. the railing is from a dolls house supplier. I just have to paint it and make the gate.
Carl.

Hi Carl,

great work! It looks real(y)

I am waiting for one of this old Kirin like you, I hope the figure arrived quickly from HK:rolleyes:

Thats a great gate and the figures you have choosen looking really good with this.
Are you gonna do the mother and child to??
There are horses available, so that can be done.
Would make a great vignette.

Marc

Walls and pillar painted now, and the bolts need their slots filling and painting. But unfortunately they are a bit too large. But these are the finest I could get.
Carl.

I've found two figures, that require a bit of converting. I think I'll draw a line on the horse though.;)

HouseCarl:

This is really starting to get interesting. I like all your attention to detail.
It is amazing to me, after several months of looking at scale figures, and
scale terrain, scale buildings, swinging gates, et cetera, that it takes a mo
for my brain to connect with what my eyes are seeing. . . like I almost
forget how literally small these pieces are.

The texture of the "cemented" post, and other details looks so good. And
for me personally seeing this kind of work from you, Carl, along with those
neato close up images from you WWI trench vignetter, give me a lot of
ideas for future projects. Well done, mate,

Kansas Kid

Nice project Carl, I will look foward to following the progress on this and seeing the final piece, great idea for the brick work

Cheers
Tommi

Thanks for the nice comments. Dan, the kid will be showing true contempt for the German aggressor. (Sticking his tongue out.)
Cheers,
Carl.
