I recently received Thorsberg Miniature's first 75mm figure for a review. Sculpted by Martin Hille this 11 part kit comes in a sturdy white cardboard box with all parts sandwiched between layers of foam.

The top photo shows the box as I got it with the paper sleeve around the box with a color photograph to use as a painting guide as part of the sleeve.

The middle photo shows the parts and the layers of foam the parts are sandwiched between for shipping protection.

The bottom photo shows all of the parts out of the box and removed from the baggie for inspection.

Above is the dear standard which fits into the top of the brass tube supplied with the kit. Excellent idea of using tubing as the standard dry-fitted perfectly into the brass tube.

Above is the white metal base supplied with the kit.

The kit also comes with 2 plaques you can paint for the front of the base.

Conclusion:
An excellent kit by Thorsberg and I hope the first of many 75mm kits to come in the future. This figure could be paired up with any Pegaso in a vignette as the quality is the same, if not better. The casting is of outstanding quality. Highly recommended +.

I don't know if it is a problem of the pics , but it seems to me just a little big the head of the figure, and also in my opinion the size of the shield could have been larger...anyway it looks a very interesting figure for which as me are passionate of the ancient germans. Thank you for sharing it Guy.

Thank you for the nice review Guy!

To all of you many thanks for your interest in our figure and for your comments.

Just allow me one remark concerning the shield:
German warriors from that period used shields of various sizes and shapes. According to archaeological evidence round-oval shields had a length from 55 to 72 cm and a width from 42 to 66 cm. Shields of long-oval shape on the other hand were up to 120 cm long. The shield depicted here is based on a find from Mannheim-Feudenheim, Germany. Because of its small size it is classified as a standard bearer’s shield by some scholars. Keep in mind that a standard bearer uses both hands to hold up the standard in battle.
