This is a 1/10 bust by Amati depicting a Chiricahua Apache warrior.

I decided to work on a bust in order to ease myself back into painting after a month's hiatus following a bout of ill health (stomach bleed, ambulance, a battery of tests, intravenous drugs, endoscopy etc etc). Finding that my eyes are a bit weak due to the medication, I thought the larger scale would be more manageable.

On the mend now, though some more tests on Tuesday, but I should be able to spend more time at the bench. Many apologies for not having commented on your threads during my absence from the site.

Hope you feel better soon. This is great. I think it brings out the best of your palette/style.

Hi Peter

Sorry to hear you've not been well , we have missed you, hope you feel better soon , plenty of rest as well

Thanks for sharing this , nice colour palette and I like those fleshtones and the shading on the flesh....looks good

Nice lining on the waistcoat as well

Happy benchtime

Hi Peter, noticed you were away mate & sorry hearing of your ill health.
Rest safe my friend & enjoy these latest projects.
Amati busts are a lovely set of classics - you've done this one justice too with appropriate palette.
Enjoyable to see. Keep 'em coming.

Hi Peter!

I desire all the best for you, and as always, excellent work.

Cheers,

Francisco

Glad to hear you’re on the mend Peter and best wishes for your continued recovery. Lovely work on the bust, great colour choices and skin tones.

Steve - You have my sympathies. The problem with busts is that they aren't such good value for money for me; this took two days, whereas a figure usually takes around a week. Glad you like this one though.

Neal - Very many thanks.

Morning Peter
Good to see you back at the bench and painting again.
Gently gently with your recovery too, you will get there.
I thought I recognised the white/light disc on the neckerchief, your Verlinden Apache from awhile ago.
Its a good palette cleanser with no set regulation colour scheme to "have" to follow!
Love the waistcoat, Apache businessman!
Have fun with your next victim and been good to yourself, your painting is excellent and can only get better
Regards
Steve H

Warren - Many thanks.

Steve sdo324 - Ouch! Great attitude though.

Stephan - Thank you.

Steve H - Morning. Yes, good to get painting again with no colour restrictions to worry about. I've had a couple of 120mm failures since, but the latest is going well. Health slowly getting better while experimenting with the various medications - can't get to see a doctor for love or money, but am expecting a call from the nurse today following further tests. All a bit of a merry-go-round.
