Hi All
Here are three of those CiFi 120mm figures that some don't think much of.
I think that they scrub up rather nice for the price.
I enjoyed painting them if nothing else and they didn't cost me an arm and a leg.
All are painted in enamels.
Enjoy

Don't get me wrong I appreciate well sculpted figures but I think a well painted figure, of a subjectt that doesn't get too much attention is worth doing even if the sculpting isn't brilliant.
And of course if the price is right....................

Thanks one and all
The Argentine guy was converted from the below item.

This was the base for the conversion plus some notes I had.

Another shot of the conversion

I purchase the items direct from the Czech Republic
this is the web site
Send me an email and I can supply a complete list - in Czech.
The process is very slow, I fax an order with payment details and they process the order. For example send the order to the producer. Who then producers the items on demand. The shop may hold stocks, I do not know. I pay by credit card which is charged on dispatch of the items. Turn around is three to six months. The price is worth the wait. etc. etc.
"Warning, warning" or was that "Danger, danger" Be prepared to do some corrective panel beating on some items as some details etc. are incorrect.
Any queries email me. I have been dealing with the "Artur" for three odd years.
Another CiFi fig.

Roger you are correct.
Funny thing is that CiFi modelled the guy with a skull helmet rather than a bell shako yet the detail on the plate, feathers, cords etc was very nice. A result of either incorrect information or poor research or lack of knowledge on subject. Some of the CiFi figures are quite okay as is. Maybe it is the exotic subject matter. Mind you that was to my advantage to make the metal helmet. It was in fact one of the reasons that inspired me to do the conversion. I also had to add knee length boots and remove and remove frogging etc. etc.
The resin is on the brittle side and can turn to dust very easily. Still the effort is worth it. I must get another one and correct the shako etc. Some details are in metal - sword, rifle. This seems to vary between subject and when cast.

I've had a look at "Artur's" site and there are some really interesting subjects. There's a couple of Great War figures I'd like a go at. My next couple of projects are going to be something more colourful than khaki in 54mm as have just done some larger scale figures and need a break from them but will keep these in mind for future reference.

Some pics for you.

This figure is nicer than the painted effort. :)
A couple of incorrect things that are easy to fix up.
And I don't know about you however I have to add my own touch as part of the process anyway.
I will let you know what the Austro - Hungarian is like in a month or two as I have just orderd him along with a mounted Algerian Horseman. I do have a photo of one that a person in Poland painted up. I can send it to your email,
CiFi are bits of a nag.
Cheers
