Right after I posted the Elite new release of Derek Hansan's figure I got 3 stinging emails from members of the planet. I was advised that they were not new and were once produced by Poste Militaire. Well guys..........thanks for the emails..........they are always appreciated and I like to hear feedback of any kind. My response to all 3 concerned members is...........read the forums and you will see on numerous occasions the mention of Elite buying the Derek Hansen masters and will be re-releasing them. To Elite.....they are New to them and therefore a new release for Elite. Bonapartes will be comming out with their new releases of the former PM figures. They will be new releases for Bonapartes.

For the new guys to the hobby. Quite often a manufacturer will cease to operate for whatever reason that may exist for them and a few years later you will see the figures they had re-appear again under a new name and label. The Lost Battalion bought out several lines that had gone under and now when they re-release them they are "New Releases" to the new company that owns the master and is producing them. Quite often the name is also bought and the new owner can either produce them under the old name or if they choose, use their own name. Quite honestly, the newer manufacturers are doing a much better quality of casting than the older manufacturers were doing. Seil Models is another company that was brought to my attention. Again it has already been mentioned in the forums and I am glad to see these fine figures back out again and in much better casting than before. So the new guys..........be thankful when you are able to purchase an older figure now produced by another company who is doing a better casting job with them.

The last thing 2 of the emails mentioned is my claim to be an authority. I am not an authority on figures nor have I ever claimed to be an authority. I am experienced in the figure hobby...........but not an authority. In the cases of the news items posted, I am quite often only the messenger who recieved an email from a manufacturer about their next new release. We have often been posted questions from new members to the hobby and I usually let the members who are the authority, answer these questions. So guys....if I come off as an authority on anything..........you're reading it wrong...............I'm just an experienced messenger relaying new stuff to the membership. I also have learned alot from the 2 years I have been with the planet and hope that everyone is also gaining knowledge, as I am, about how to paint better figures.

Keep your brushes wet.
