I have been using W&N brush cleaning liquid which is great...maybe too great :) i have some brushes no matter how long I stroke them against a cue tip dipped in the W&N brush cleaning liquid, paint sill keeps on coming off is there a more efficient way of cleaning my (really dirty) brushes with this stuff?

Hi godfather,
I use one of these with good success...

You fill each section about half full of thinner. Then you just gently drag the brush over the ridges in the big section to remove the paint and rinse it in the other 2 smaller sections.
Best thing...it's not expensive. I've found that one for as little as $5.00 (US).

PS: Forgot to mention that I use plani old odorless turpentine to clean by brushes after each use. It's probably not as expensive as the WN cleaning fluid you talked about. If I have a brush where the paint has dried, I use this stuff...

Works really well.

I use Master's Brush Cleaner and Preserver as well It has brought back brushes I thought were beyond hope. I also use the Masters hand soap it really works great. It will take oil paint off your hands like nothing else and it leaves your hands soft and not dried out like Lava does.

Sometimes it seems to me that I spend more time cleaning my brushes than I do painting... :)

I use the Master Brush Cleaner too. I bought one bottle of the WN stuff but it was never as effective as the MAster's.

I make a point of using two step rinse process. The first cup is the "Dirty" where I rinse the majority of the paint off. The second cup is the "Clean" for the final rinse. I use this method between sessions. For a full clean following this I use the Masters. Dip the brushes in hair conditioner. Gently shape tip. Store upright.
