I use coffee jars for painting stands. Also the lids make good display plinths after. Nice and cheap and doing my bit for recycling.

Good idea. Using those little purpose made clamps always gives me cramp in the hand. (No smutty comments now) This is a good alternative.

Nice idea. Filling the jar with dry rice would help with sturdiness as well.
