Hey guys,

I'm painting a German Infantry soldier in winter dress. I started with the face and tried to achieve a pale look on it. Now I want to get it alive with some colours. I was thinking on doing something with red, violet, blue...
But I'm not sure how to handle this, so I'm counting on you guys.

I work normally in acryclics, but also have a range of oils. In case someone has an idea with oils.

Thanks in advance,

Ivan.

Hi Ivan, which oil paints do you have?

The thing to do to get the best results is to find photos of people in cold weather and try to copy the colours you see.

One thing to mention: often the 'violet' we think we see in skintones when someone is very cold is actually just a very dull tint of red - these just appear to be violet to our eyes, a common colour illusion.
