Hello everyone,

Here is the first image of a figurine project depicting a colonel from the 7th Hussar Regiment.

For now, the face is serving as a template and will not be the final version.

Hi Claude

WOW!!

The detail works amazing , the fur texture on the pelisse, the lacework, the sabretache ....going to be stunning painted

Will you add a plume as well ?

This would make a wonderful bust as well ...just saying ...lol

Do share the sculpt on the horse as well if possible

Happy sculpting

Superb detail I suspect that the legs could be a touch longer.

Mike

PLUS 1 . The detail is phenomenal but the whole stance of the figure is that 'squat' appearance like the old 'Series 77' figures always seemed to have. Or maybe it is the photos..?

I seem to remember that in one of Shep Paine's books he showed how to lengthen Series 77 figures' legs.

That was for a different era I suspect Mike and these days, I have neither the time, inclination and more importantly the skills to be converting or correcting figures. I hope the creator of this fine piece takes the feedback constructively because if the anatomy can be perfected, he will have an unbeatable Napoleonic figure as the detail on the uniform is just breathtaking.

I suspect that many are in the same boat, unless there's a specific reason, such as modelling a particular figure that is not otherwise commercially available. It is possible to get traditionally modelled figures with a fair amount of detail (my own figure - https://www.planetfigure.com/threads/150mm-officer-chasseurs-à-cheval-en-petite-tenue.676102/)

Hello and thank you for the compliments! Indeed, the legs were a bit too short. I can create the plume in 3D, but the base that supports the feathers is very thin; given its height, it would break easily. Additionally, with the constraints of printing, it would be quite a headache and very fragile.

The horse is superb with a natural stance and accurate bridle, harness and saddlery. I still think that the officer's legs need to be lengthened a touch. I would love to see this in a large scale (120 - 200mm) although 90 - 100mm would produce a lovely project to work on.

Hi Claude

A wonderful piece of sculpting ,, love the horse and all the lacework

As for the legs .....perhaps he was a little short in the area

A excellent subject from a talented sculptor

Hope we see more from the bench
