I am in the process of painting the Stormtroopers V12 bust of the Sowar, Guides Cavalry, Afghanistan 1897. I was wondering whether some painters could help me with the colour mixes for this type of ethnic flesh tone?
As I am unsure whether to paint it in acrylic or oils, colour mixes for both mediums would be greatly appreciated, as follows:

mix for basic tone
mixes for highlights 1,2, & 3
mixes for shadows 1, 2 & 3

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Ciao for now

Hi Franco
Mate drop down to the local RIOT ART store they all around found this great book
Color Mixing Recipes for Portraits
Features oil , acrylic
and watercolours and gives you common names
over 500 colour combinations
By William F. Powell
I use it all the time also good for eyes lips and hair tones
I think Andy might have a copy
But well worth the $20.00 or so bucks
Hope this helps........... bro

The "Color Mixing for Portraits" by William Powell has been combined with two other Powell mixing books as "1500 Color Mixing Recipes for oil, acrylic and watercolor" I just picked it up at my local bookstore in the states, but it is listed on Amazon. It looks to be a very good book for color mixes and I think worth the investment.
