Now completed FeR miniatures 16th New York Infantry, 1861 by David Zabrocki. I am pleased with the overall look and painting of this one and I hope he will do some more ACW figures.

Can we give him a name Bob? A few corporals to pick from who match the period in question:

Julius C Bishop. Aged 28 years. Enlisted 7 May 1861 at De Pester NY. Mustered in as corporal, Coy G, 16th New York Volunteer Infantry 15 May 1861 to serve two years; promoted sergeant 12 September 1862, mustered out with company 22 May 1863.

Martin Cook. Aged 23 years. Enlisted 27 April 1861 at West Chazey NY. Mustered in as corporal, Coy K, 16th New York Volunteer Infantry to serve two years. Mortally wounded 27 June 1862 at Gaines Mills Virginia - died 7 July 1862 on Steamer State of Maine near Fort Monroe Virginia.

William Nichols. Aged 25 years. Enlisted 27 April at West Chazey NY. Mustered in as corporal Coy K, 16th New York Infantry to serve two years. Promoted sergeant 29 December 1861. Mustered out with company 22 May 1863.

Julius B Whitney. Aged 25 years. Enlisted 27 April 1861 at Potsdam, NY. Mustered in as corporal, Coy F, 16th New York Volunteer Infantry to serve two years. Wounded 27 June 1861 at Gaines Mills, Virginia. Discharged due to wound. 25 November 1862.

William J Murray. Aged 25 years. Enlisted 26 April 1861 at Malone NY. Mustered in as corporal Coy I, 16yj New York Volunteer Infantry 15 May 1861 to serve two years. Promoted sergeant 9 August 1862. Wounded 3 May 1863 at Salem Church Virginia. Mustered out 6 June 1863.

David L Meader. Aged 29 years. Enlisted 15 May 1861 at Plattsburgh NY. Mustered in as corporal Coy C. 16th New York Volunteer Infantry 15 May 1861 to serve two years. Promoted sergeant 16 October 1862. Mustered out with company 22 may 1863.

Roswell A Darling. Aged 23 years. Enlisted 27 April 1861 at Potsdam NY. Mustered in as corporal, Coy B, 16th New York Volunteer Infantry 15 May 1861 to serve two years. Mustered out with company 22May 1863.

Melanethon B Webb, Jr. Aged 28 years. Enlisted 2 May 1861 at Plattsburgh NY. Mustered in as corporal, Coy E, 16th New York Volunteer Infantry 15 May 1861 for two years. Mustered out with company 22 May 1816. Subsequently served with 2nd Veteran Cavalry.

Henry C Spaulding. Aged 21 years. Enlisted 18 April 1861 at Ogdensburg NY. Mustered in as corporal, Coy A, 16th New York Volunteer Infantry 15 May 1861 for two years. Promoted quartermaster-sergeant 22 November 1861. Mustered out with regiment 22 May 1863.

Orville R Shipman. Aged 21 years. Enlisted 15 May 1861 at Albany NY. Mustered in as corporal, Coy D, 16th New York Volunteer Infantry 15 May 1861 for two years. Mustered out with company 22 May 1863

As it happens I looked through the Muster rolls for the 16th and came across this guy. The Regiment was raised to serve for 2 years in May 1861. Thanks for looking in.

AUSTIN , DANIEL , Jr.—Age , 24 years. Enlisted, May 7, 1861, at De Peyster; mustered in as corporal, Co. G, May 15, 1861, to serve two years; reduced to ranks, date not stated; discharged for disability. May 31, 1862.
