Been a long time project with lots of breaks. Gold braiding was the issue but had lots of help from the members here. DSCF1118.JPGDSCF1106.JPGDSCF1107.JPGDSCF1108.JPGDSCF1109.JPG

Lovely figure Paul.
Can you tell me, is there ornamentation on the front thighs of the breeches? I can't tell from the photos.

Looks really good to me. Maybe more pics with the light less direct... it really over powers your paintwork.

I've done the 54mm version of this fig from "Masterclass" and now I want to do this version t really get into the details.

Jon, if it follows the original painting of the Chasseur and other versions of the fig, the breeches are plain buff leather.

Great job on one of my all time favourite subjects.

Colin

Jon, no they are the doeskin parade dress strides. The rank was normally displayed on the green britches or the red ones seen in the Consular period.
Many thanks
Paul

Colin, absolutely agree with the light, too much saturation. Something i'm definately going to have to work on. Many thanks for the comment.
Cheers Paul

Thanks Malc,
was abolutely terrified of doing this but it was less stressful than any other build i've done. Very clever design on all aspects of the model. Well done Andrea.
Cheers Paul

Hello Paul.
It's a beautiful Chasseur. The reason I wanted to know about the breeches is that I've got Moz's Chasseur but wanted to show him with the deerskin. The only reference I could find of deerskin with the gold rank embroidery was an engraving of De Beauharnais from 1850 or thereabouts, so may not be accurate. Might have to change the plan.
Jon

Morning Jon,
i think it would make a very interesting talking point with the deerskin britches. That said rather you than me...just for a captain it was more than enough gold braid to paint:)
Which Moz figure is it by the way, is it the one i attached earlier?
Cheers
Paul

Good morning Marc, Mike and Huw,
many thanks for the kind words. Much appreciated.
Cheers
Paul

Very nice. This is a lovely figure. The light is too bright and makes the figure look like it needs more contrast in the painting, especially the face. Georgeous figure.
