Hi guys I'm thinking of getting a silent compressor the all look great but they are 110 volts and 220 volts
But here in the Austraila it is 240 volts. is it still ok to get one and change the plug to a Aussie 3 prong plug?
Or is there more to it than that ?
The cost of one these compressor is high and the cost shipping is high too
I would not want to get one here , then have to throw more cash to it.
Any help from the planet figure community would be great .

As Jon says... Yes, it will be fine.

The UK voltage was changed to bring us into line with the rest of the EU iirc.

Thanks guy's for your comments and help .
To Jon p , they do and in the day time too.
Baron, had a good laugh
My local electronics store sell's a step down transformer from 240 volt to 110 for $ 80 au
I think I will go that way, if only they do a step up in my figure and model painting I will be laughing.
Once again thank you all, for your time and comments.

110 volt is mainly used outdoors for contractors as it is safe to use in the rain ,normally it won't kill you:eek: if you get a shock and won't hook you up so you will not get plated ,here in the uk you will not get on to a building site using 240v power tools .
if your supply is 240v and your load is 110 you must use a transformer
