Just finished this latest piece depicting a confederate infantryman which could be from any period between 1861 and 1865.
The bust is all cast in resin and is produced by Graham Scollick at CGS Military Figures
The piece was sculpted by Carl Reid
I added a pipe to the piece and a shirt cuff to the right arm,as the wrist looked to be a little long.
All in all a very enjoyable piece,I think this is my 10th ACW bust sculpted by Carl and I love the way he incorporates that rough gritty battle weariness into his pieces.
Completed in acrylics and finished in oils.

Loving this one Smudger, really like how you have incorporated the dirt and grime of daily life and battle into the tunic and kepi.

Cheers Simon

Hi Brian

Sorry thought I’d posted on this , do like the pipe and cuffs addition , adds more to the piece

Nice variation on the clothing colour , and the dirty campaign feel

Like the treatment of the base as well

A pleasure to see as always
