There are a lot of great photos from several periods that serve as great uniform references. While there are not many photos showing fully equipped Confederates, there are several "death studies" that show many interesting uniform details. I found this thread on a site for "hardcore" Civil War reenactors, and the enlargements on some of the images are fantastic.~Gary

Thanks for the link Gary. The dead at the Alsop house are interesting. I relic hunted the Alsop farm 20 years ago. I think there are homes built on it now. One interesting note is that my relic hunting partner found an 1812 Militia button and a spur in a corn field less than 100 yeads from where I think that dead Confederate was lying. We found lots of holes with multiple 5-15 dropped .58 cal minie balls and clusters of Eagle Buttons in that area. We stopped hunting there when we stumbled on the owners marijuna patch and he chased us out. His name was also Alsop and a direct desendent of the Civil War period owners.
