After over 35 years in this hobby I thought I'd seen some amazing pieces of sculpting but I am pleased to say that I am impressed and that takes some doing at my age:wtf: .
I have just received the two new "retreat" busts and they are both excellent.
I have to say that the Hussar/drummer boy bust is as far as I'm concerned the best bust I have ever seen
or purchased to date.
The photos of the busts are good but don't give the full impression of the actual pieces.
If you like busts, do yourself huge favour and get these two.
Who would have believed that product like this would ever be available.
Long may it last and long may it inspire others to create amazing pieces.
Cheers
Jonathan

Ah! But there in, lies the rub. As with a lot of things, what you see may not be what you get. Personally! I will wait for a review of these pieces, primarily focussing on the casting quality and fit. I doubt it will take too long.;)

Mark

I agree Mark, and I think we've probably all been 'burned' once or twice by ropey casts. Having said that, now he's got his mitts on them I'm sure Jonathan wouldn't be on here singing their praises if they were rubbish, and personally I've never had a bad cast off Bonapartes.

These two are definitely 'winking' at me but I'm leaning more towards the full figure for the infantryman. As you say, a full review would be great.

I'm not quite sure weather the first one is a bust, mounted drummer or vignette, but whichever it is, it looks gorgeous(y)(y).
Best wishes, Gary.

I second the motion for a few pics of the Hussar and drummer out of the box if you have a mind to do so. It looks like a great kit!

Thanks

Kevin D.

I've seen the castings up close of both castings & they are very good, only slight mould lines to clean up & a few casting plugs to remove, I believe they are casted by Yannis in Greece who casts for Pegaso's ( among many others) so the standard is good.
Cheers
Jim
