Finally got round to taking pictures of another one of my side projects, this time a resin Cuirassier from Spain during their African war from Alabarda Association in Spain.

Beautiful casting with some lovely detail like the separate rowel wheel spurs. I had to remake the helmet spike as I managed to snap that, yeah clumsy I know.

He is painted entirelyin acrylics and mounted on a Sovereign 2000 resin base. It really is a very nice figure to paint, it comes with a ripped knee on his right leg that is true to the painting it is based on but I didn't really like that so I stitched it back together with Magicsculpt.

Very nice work Simon, great job on a nice figure. Interesting subject as always. You are quite prolific.....

That's a nice, tidy project. You've dulled the bright colours down, but not to the point where they lose their lustre.
He's been out in the field for a couple of weeks, but not blended with the earth. Maybe light on the lice, too.
As usual, a lovely piece of original work.

Kev, thanks for that mate, glad it was resin and not white metal, the sewing would have been much harder! I'll do something for the comps in due course don't panic.

Melanie, thanks for those kind words, it is a lovely figure and would be good for some nice conversions.

Mobo, I'm pleased you like it mate, it's a good figure to paint.

Malc, cheers bud, shame he wasn't ready for Faversham but I wasn't going to rush it.

Steve, thanks, I try to power through my side projects, I'm lucky in not working and having the time (Granddaughter permitting) to crack on. With so much time given over to conversion and sculpting it's nice to have something available to paint sometimes.

Nigel, much appreciated, as I said above I have the time I'm not able to sit and watch the TV all day and the broken bits mean no exercise so I have to do something, anything but the garden.

David, many thanks mate, yes he's out in the cuds somewhere in Africa but I just don't like the dirty weathered look so much. Probably a little perverse on my part but I prefer my figures to be nice and clean and they're mine so I can!

Neil, hmm a side hustle not really up to hustling these days! Cheers though I did enjoy the painting.

Cheers Simon
