Oke,
Did my first steps on the eyes and blocked out the skin for a better vieuw of the eyes.
What do you guys think..(ohhhh that picture is unforgiven things)
The pupil seems round in reality, and in the picture it is a triangel.....ohhhh

Am I going to far or what.

If I stare too long I get hynotized o_O

I like it ( ofcours) but have the feeling 1.) the right eye is sculpted too large or 2.)his own left iris should be a little bit moved to the right, could be the angle of photography too.

Marc, it's a good start, love to see more tones soon!

Rene

Thanks Rene,
It's a blown up picture:confused: and then it seems all wrong.
When you see him in front of you it looks very real.....But maybe i'm to proud of myself.

Marc

...make your pics a bit smaller

I know photos can be drama...

my setting: 12 o clock lighting and macro in very low resolution.

Good start Marc! I think the eyes look good. Maybe the left iris should be more to the center of the eye (not much), but I'm no eye specialist. I can hardly paint them myself. ;)

Cheers,

Håkan

Last days I reworked the eyes, and did the skintone's. If i see the pictures i think I gonna tone the skin a little lighter. A thin wash will do the trick. The hair is just basecolor. It's gonna be grey.
One question: should i paint the beard like Mark Benette, maybe i should leave the face as it is.

Let me here what you think.

Ha Marc,

think any kind of beard will look good on James. It will add to his battle fatigued look he wears so well in the movie.
I like your idea of up lighting the skin by downtuning in washes too.

a sculptor that has spended a lot of time on how to depict James best in this intrinsic Steiner role with only clay as his instrument has to settle down in the believe that things not be able to sculpt should be painted.

it's my own opinion Marc, the position of the eyebrows reduce the eyelids for less of a half too. Which covers up the iris partly.
This allows to widen them a bit more and believe it or not, will give James a somewhat smaller face.

I say, lift the pupil slightly.

René

Thanks Rene,
I toned down a little, with his hair grey it looks much better now. Next time when i take a picture of the bust i do it perfectly on face.
This one is taken maybe under a angle of 75 degrees and then his eyes looks much larger then they are.
The Haque is not along drive, so if you feel free, you can take a look
More to come next days.
