I just finished up this figure from the Brent Bristle, a 75 mm offering depicting a French Canadian militiamen, or a "coureur du bois" - one of the independent fur traders that did a lot of the exploration of the Canadian west on behalf of the Hudson Bay Company. I did the bead work on his leggings based on pictures of traditional Cree bead patterns, and thought that might give it a little extra touch of authenticity. Comments and critiques welcomed as always.

Thanks Scotty. I just received the snow cover in the mail yesterday and it was a bit of a challenge to get it on evenly. I used a lot of spray fixative. It looks pretty good now, despite the fact that there are some yellow spots at the base of the trees. But I can easily pass that off as the by-product of coyotes and wolves ;)

Very nice painting and presentation.
Makes you feel cold just looking at him.

Cheers,
Andrew
