Hi guys,
Some pics of my latest efforts in the Crimean series that I am working on. Scale 120mm, the first bust is of a Turkish Infantry Officer, 1854 and the second, a Trooper, 5th Dragoon Guards, Balaclava, 1854.
I produced the Turk whilst finding suitable research for the Dragoon helmet, which has caused a few headaches! lots of compound curves!!
Some final tidying up still to do on the Turk and a lot of work yet to do on the Dragoon.
Hope you like them, so far!
Steve(y)

Hi Steve,
Do you get to Euro ?
I think you and I could do with pint and a very long chat, our interests are far too much the same,we could bore the minions with our passion in period ;-)
nice work by the way.
Best Regards
Paul

Hi Steve ,
Good to see these progress, particularly like the Turk , you don't see many from this Army , like others have said good to see both sides from this period .

Looking forward to more from you .

Thanks for the nice comments guys- Yes, Steve, great to meet you, enjoyed putting the world to rights! The Turk is virtually complete, will post pics soon - Dragoon bubbling along, several others on the bench in various stages at the moment!
thanks again,
Steve(y)

Nice job, i know what you mean as far as the dragoon helmet goes, i just made one, its tricky to get everything in proportion and symetrical. I found out that the helmets were hand finished for head size so there would be slight differences between each helmet, not too noticeably but enough to alter the shape slightly. these pics show a big guy and a smaller thinner guy, its obvious from the pics that the helmets do differ slightly, they are two different regiments though.
