I have always been a fan of the Foreign Legion (France, and Spain too). This gent has not been in my GA for long as I'd intended to paint him as soon as he came, but other jobs got in the way a bit. Eventually got to him last week after an enjoyable few days getting plastic kits out of my head by painting the Knight Dog (see elsewhere).
Stuart at Stormtroopers/Troop 54 has an absolute knack of capturing the look of soldiers on campaign. This figure is based on a Benigni colour sketch and Stuart has replicated it in excellent fashion. Crisply sculpted and cast in grey resin, the figure includes a resin trench section, which I decided I'd use. I did add a bit of Miliput to the base to disguise the join between floor and upright. That, and fabricating a couple of canteen straps was all I did
Painted with Vallejo and Scalecolour acrylics, Micro Balloons snow, base by Pete's Bases, name plate on the next Name-it order. Three enjoyable sittings. Apologies for the poor pics - I WILL replace my camera for sure.
Thanks for looking
Phil
