Hi Folks

Here is a piece that I have been working on the past few weeks for one of my collectors. It’s a bust of Hercule-Savinien Cyrano de Bergerac . He was a French dramatist and duelist. In fictional works about his life he is featured with an overly large nose, which people would travel from miles around to see. Portraits suggest that he did have a big nose, though not nearly as large as described in works about him. Cyrano's work furnished models and ideas for subsequent writers.

I purchased the piece from here on PF. Do not know who the manufacture is? The casting was pretty rough and filled with air bubbles and I had to re work and re-sculpt most of it in magisculp. All painted in Scale 75 Acylics and Jo Sonja acrylics. It’s a bit of a fun thing to paint, any comments most welcome.

Cheers

Tommi

This is most evidently a Tim Bruckner garage-kit, Tommi.
I like his very distinctive style and have his Frankenstein´s Monster bust in my stash.
Nice work.
Spike.

Well done.
But do not forget Cyranno de Bergerac wasreal, not a character in a novel.

Personally, my favorite version of Cyrano deBergerac is by Morecambe and Wise, but this beautifully painted quirky bust comes a good 2nd:happy:.
Best wishes, Gary.

A very nice piece. The details on his face and the freehand work on the collar are all very well done. Congrats, Tommi!
