Nice work Ben....Humbrol still has a place with figure painters..I still use them a lot and they can be worked as well as oils as you have proved on this lovely bust..well done.

Very good painted!

Since 1894, Tsar Nicolas II. was Chief of this regiment, he has never carried this uniform in all probability.

On the black and white photo, that is to be seen, there is not the tsar, but Grandduke G. von Leuchtenburg, a relative of the tsar.

He wars the red "supreveste", that was worn only for palace-duty and only by the men of the 1st and 4th squadron of this unit.
The other squadrons wore the guards-star on their suprevestes.

However, this should no account curtail on your work!

Regards

Thanks Martin,

I know it. I had followed the discussion about the wearing this kind of uniform.
I prefer painting of figures or busts from paintings or original uniform photos to avoid this kind of faults. :D
But this bust is very nice, so I had painted it as sculpted.

Thanks for comment!

(excuse me for bad English...)

Bedankt Marcel.
Ik wist niet dat er nog Nederlanders zich met deze hobby bezig hielden...:D

Thanks Marcel.
I did not know that Dutch people are still preoccupied with this hobby ...;)
