Allow me to take this opportunity to give my deepest respect and admiration for the veterans of the D-Day Invasion. Their valour and ultimate sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Unfortunately as long as the Human race is unable to learn from the mistakes made by man in the past we are doomed to fighting wars until the real war to end all wars, which will also be the war to end all human life as well.

as Albert Einstein once said "i don't know what weapons we will use in WW3 but in WW4 we will have to use sticks and stones, but as Afghanistan proves we can't seem to learn from the past so we are cursed to repeat it.

Well put John and Paul!
I work at a Veteran's hospital/residence and yesterday was a pretty emotional day. The Old Boys got themselves all done up and had a lovely little anniversary pagent.... sort of a scaled down Rememberance Day. I can't imagine what it took for these men to storm the beach under that hellish fire. I am just in awe of these men that I work with everyday.
