My entry in DWC's Dawn of the Apocalypse Commemorative Painting Competition is now finished and can be seen here. Rin will be posting the images on the DWC Facebook and Google+ pages shortly (later today?).
This is essentially an OOB canvas, but I did make the following minor enhancements:
Added an integral pedestal/plinth that was sculpted in MS.
The bust has been given the “Historex” treatment overall: thinning of trailing edges, undercutting layered surfaces, scribing, etc.; most notably, the right shoulder strap of the dress.
Enhancement of the dorsal surface of the pinna with MS: the back of the ears were essentially featureless.
Wound edges and torn (left) shoulder strap enhanced/extended with MS to create greater sense of depth.
Added distressed areas of flesh on the face, including torn left ear lobe piercing.
Areas of facial flesh textured with latex rubber and Dorland's Wax Medium.
In closing, many thanks to Rin and DWC for inviting us to the birthday festivities--may it be the first of many, MANY more to come! And, just as a reminder, the contest runs through Friday, December 13th, so there is still plenty of time to get your zombie mojo rising. . .
Just by way of closure, to the first annual event in any case, I am very proud--and pleased as punch!--to announce that "Queen of the Prom" was deemed "Best in Contest" in Dark World Creation's 1st Anniversary Commemorative Painting Competition.
My sincere thanks to Rin for sponsoring the contest, and the opportunity he afforded us. I am very much looking forward to providing Jessica with some full-bodied companions and to see how they fare in next year's Horde Rendezvous!
