Hi All,
this a picture taken at FigureWorld held in Oundle 2018.
Will try to get some updated pictures soon.
At this point the figure was (I have made some minor alterations to hood and clasp) very much a Work In Progress.
I consider the face (skin tones) as completed.

Quick question to who wants to answer --> eye reflections: yes or no?
I have since added some purple-black to the deepest recesses of the cloak.

Managed to get my camera working again (blooming empty batteries)


This is my first attempt at trying out a light box. Need to learn a lot, but I think y'all get the gist of this very well sculpted bust of a (for some) disturbing idea

Everthing you see is painted on - including the catchlights in the eyes.
I only used oils (Winsor & Newton artists' oil colour - not the student version) for the face and eyes.
Hood, clasp and scarf painted with Scale 75 colours.

Just done a bit of an experiment. I wondered if the eyes are good because of colour choice - so I took a picture and desaturated all colours out.
What do you guys think?

I think I'll start doing this with all my work - shows up some errors that are less obvious in full colour

Thanks for posting ...for me the eyes look good the red is particularly sinister lookng ..saying that desaturated eyes also look strangely scary in another way

Like the way this is looking both the eyes and the skn tones

for this bust I felt the eyes were the focal point. I am glad to see that even in grey scale they elicit ellicit evoke a response

I saw this as an opportunity to do a study of painting techiques, as well as attempting to emulate a specific emotion (I wanted to go for hate, but am not sure how successful I was)

I like this too - well done. The red eyes really add character and I think there would be much less of an overall impact without them.

I am considering doing this bust again, but playing with different colours - not sure yet as I am not certain what emotions my new colour scheme might evoke.
