Hello Planeteers,

My latest one, paint still drying, is this bust by Augie Rodriguez for Fort Duquesne, representing Sengoku daimyō Date Masamune 伊達 政宗 , also known as the 'One-eyed Dragon from Ōshu' and founder of the city of Sendai in the Tōhoku region. The bust is based on information from the Sendai city museum and painted in oils as usual.

Augie's series of daimyō busts surely stands the test of time. His own forum was a lively exchange of information on samurai armor too. Katō Kiyomasa and Ii Naomasa are still waiting in my grey army!

Excellent work.
I really liked that the bust doesn't have a pirate eye patch. Many of the miniatures Date Masamune is depicted with a bandage over one eye. But this is most likely historically reliable
