I very rarely come on to planet figure. But I phoned Roy's house yesterday, only to be confronted with this tragic news. I spoke to Pat Roy's wife and as you can appreciate the poor lady is unconsolable. I have known Roy for many years both personally and proffessionally, I was totally stunned by the news. I am still reeling 24 hours later. There really is nothing more to say except, If there is a better human being in this world than Roy I have yet to meet him. I will miss Roy terribly he was a good friend. See you mate!

Hi Carl

It is terribly shocking news, I have been in contact with Pat since Roy’s passing and it has been hard to say the least, but I have to say she is very much comforted by the responses from people on here and the many other websites Roy used to frequent.....

Funeral Arrangements

As Roy was such a big part of a lot of peoples lives, within the modelling community Pat has asked for the date of Roy’s funeral to be shown, so that, people who wish to show their respect, can on the day, as there may be a large number of people showing their respect, could I please ask that you let me know by PM or email if you are going, as Pat would like to gauge numbers to make it easier for organisational purposes, thank you.

Hi Dave,
Would it be possible to have a collection for Pat and the family at Folkestone this year? It could be held in the demo room where Roy always sat.

Hello Carl,

That would be an excellent idea. We should all try to get in touch with Magicalia (the organiser of Euro-Militaire) or the people in charge to see what they can do about it.

What 's wrong with God in this year of 2007/2008 ????????????

So many friends went to heaven : Marcelo Grimaldi, Adrien Demayer, Petit Belge.etc....... and then Roy............

I also just met him at Gerona WE last month. Such a nice guy.

I'm shoked and sad..............

Just back from vacation and i didn't know this.
What a terrible lost. I met Roy a couple of times at Euro, and what a great guy he was.
I really would like to give my deepest respect and condolences to his wife and children.

A Sad Loss.

i would like to echo the same sentiments and condolences to the Family of Roy. i too met him for the first time last year at Euro and sat with him and Blabsy who kindly invited me to sit and eat my lunch with them.
i had booke the whole of September off so i can go to Euro 09 and was looking forward to saying Hi and seeing what he had done this year; perhaps it would be nice to name a Memorial shield after him for the Scratchbuilt/sculpted Catagory, that would be nice.
Nice bloke who had some good advice.

regards from Tim.
