Hi,
Just seen this beautiful bust in German HZ Forum:
Death Hussar
It seems it is being (or will be) released by Young Miniatures. Any German speaking planeteer out there who can give more details?.

Though busts are not my piece of cake, i will probably give this one a try, if it's ever available.

Hi Luis,

You're right, that is one sweeeeet bust! I want one, too! The description says it will be available through Young Miniatures one of these days. (Not much detail, unfortunately) It looks like such a beautiful sculpt.

Thanks for the heads up!
Nancy

It's a beautiful sculpt, a bit neoclassic style, clean and perfectly executed. But the face is exactly the same used for the prussian guard jager, also by Hiroyuki Ishii, only a bigger moustache and sideburns.

I too have the Jegar, I think there has been a little change made around the chin area, if it is the same head, but still a beauty, I want one.... :)

I think it is a small and mute point that the face is similar, this is a lovely piece and I will be on the look out for this.

I believe the uniforms they wore were black,... is that correct?

You are right. Both 8th and 5th regiments wore black uniforms, bright green braiding for the 8th and white for the 5th. By sanding away the mirliton insignia, it can be painted as any of the other regiments which wore mirlitons. There was a recent posting about Andrea's 54mm prussian hussar where the different regiment uniforms were discussed.

Nice!

Hmmmm, with so much interest among us, it would be a great candidate for our first group build (a'la those on ARC).

Hmm, got me thinking there, Luca. Not only does the hussar head look very similar to the jaeger's (although the jaw does seem a little fuller on the hussar's), the bodies are virtually identical - same V shape at the bottom, same cut off point for the arms. Looks like the sculptur used the same base - his own "Old Bill" bust. Still - it's an awesome piece, just like the Jaeger.

Let me get in on any possible group purchase, it's an awesome gotta-have bust. I called Chuck at Red Lancers a few days ago to see if he had this one yet (he doesn't) but I was under the impression the manufacturer was the same as the Jaeger whose manufacturer seems to go under the names of Taisho, Miniature Park, or In Wood, take your pick. I didn't see the part that said it is to be released by Young Miniatures but that's good news as that co. seems to be better represented by stateside suppliers. Can't wait for this beaut.

Hi John

Unfortunately here in the UK we dont have anybody that supplies Miniature Park or Young Miniatures as of yet, as a member of my club found out, when he ordered the Young Miniatures Viking, with all the duty and taxes added it came to nealy $150, so he wasn’t best pleased, but when I purchased the Jager from Colorado Miniatures, he wrote gift on the outside so it was a minimal charge.

So hopefully this bust should be out soon and I will be able to join in the fun of painting this beauty.... :)
